Browsing Klugh Theatre Karaoke Library

This is the most commonly used feature of the web site and is available on every page (except the member pages and the data list pages.)  Browsing the library is done by using three dropdown list boxes.  These dropdown list boxes are titled View By Artist Name, View By Song Title and View By Song Code.  They are in the Operation Header, which is shown below:

Each dropdown list box has its own Expand Button ( ) and Go Button ( ).  These help you select an entry from the dropdown list box.

The Expand Button ( ) will open the dropdown list box so that you can scroll through all of the entries in it.  Clicking the Expand Button ( ) again will collapse the list.  An expanded dropdown list box is shown in the image below:

When the dropdown list box is expanded, you will see the list of entries that the list contains.  Browsing the list can be done by using the scroll bar, arrow keys or Page Up/Page Down keys.  You can change what item is selected by using the mouse button, arrow keys, Page Up/Page Down keys, Home key and End key.  You can also jump the selector to the first entry beginning with a desired letter or number by pressing the key corresponding to that letter or number.

Once you have selected an entry that you want, press the Go Button ( ).  The page will refresh, and a report list will appear showing all the karaoke songs in the library that correspond to the entry you requested.  In the example show below, the entry for the band Abba was selected:

Depending on what entry is selected, you may receive one or more report list stacked below each other.  By scrolling the web page you may see every report list generated.

Some artists or bands appear under different artist names.  For example, selecting Rod Stewart (listed as "Stewart, Rod") will give you several report lists.  Rod Stewart appears in his own report list, but he also appears in a report list where he performed with Bryan Adams and Sting.  Therefore, the report lists that show up are "Adams, Bryan (with Rod Steward & Sting)" and "Stewart, Rod".

Shown below are other entries that appear in the dropdown list boxes:

"3's...", "A's...", etc.: Some entries appear as a single character following by "'s...".  They appear in the dropdown list at the top of the entries that begin with that letter or number.  These entries are used to retrieve all karaoke songs in the library that start with that particular letter or number.

"ALL...": The ALL entry is at the bottom of the dropdown list.  You can scroll down to it or simply press the End key.  This entry will provide you with all of the karaoke songs in the library.

"Musicals - " (only in View By Artist Name): Any song that comes from a musical will be preceded by the text "Musicals - " followed by the name of the musical.  They are listed under the entries starting with "M" in the View By Artist Name dropdown list box.  For example, the musical "The Sound Of Music" appears as the entry "Musicals - The Sound Of Music".  If you want to see all of the karaoke songs from musicals, click the entry "Musicals - All..." that appears at the top of the musical entries.

"Television Shows - " (only in View By Artist Name): Any song that comes from a television show will be preceded by the text "Television Shows - " followed by the name of the television show.  They are listed under the entries starting with "T" in the View By Artist Name dropdown list box.  For example, the television show "All In The Family" appears as the entry "Television Shows - All In The Family".  If you want to see all of the karaoke songs from television shows, click the entry "Television Shows - All..." that appears at the top of the television show entries.

"Standards - " (only in View By Artist Name): Any song that is not attributed to any one artist or performance, will appear under the sub-categories of Standards.  These sub-categories are preceded by the text "Standards - " followed by the name of the sub-category.  They are listed under the entries starting with "S" in the View By Artist Name dropdown list box.  The sub-categories under Standards are Childrens Songs, Christmas, Gospel, New Year's, Patriotic, and Traditional
.  For example, to view Christmas songs you would select the entry "Standards - Christmas".  If a Christmas song or other type of song (whose sub-category appears under Standards) is popularly attributed to a particular artist, the song will appear under that particular artist's name rather than under Standards.

Using the View By Artist Name dropdown list box, all report lists are in the following column order: Song Code, Artist Name and Song Title.

The View By Song Title dropdown list box only provide entries that group karaoke songs together.  You can choose the entry beginning with the letter or number you want.  It will then give you a report list of all songs beginning with that letter or number.  Selecting "ALL..." from this dropdown list will show many report lists showing all of the karaoke songs in the library in alphabetical order.  Using the View By Song Title dropdown list box, all report lists are in the following column order: Song Code, Song Title and Artist Name.

The View By Song Code dropdown list box is the least used because it is specific to the karaoke discs themselves rather than the karaoke songs.  Selecting an entry in this dropdown list box will show you one or more report lists of all karaoke discs in the library that contains the selected song code and what karaoke songs are on those discs.  Selecting "ALL..." from this dropdown list will show many report lists showing all of the karaoke discs in alphabetical order (by song code) and what karaoke songs are on those discs.  Using the View By Song Code dropdown list box, all report lists are in the following column order: Song Code, Song Title and Artist Name.

Use the dropdown list box to select your name.  If you are not familiar with how to use a dropdown list box, please refer to the instructions in the section above titled Browsing Klugh Theatre Karaoke Library.  Once you have selected your name, enter your password.  A default password is given to each member, and the members are able to change their password whenever the desire.  Whatever is your latest password, you will enter this password here.

At the top of the member page is the Update Form.  This is the most important form on the member page because
you must click the Update Button ( ) in order to save any changes that you make on your member page!!!  If you do not click the Update Button ( ), all of the changes that you made will be lost.

When you are finished updating your Event Request List for a Klugh Theatre event, you can simply email it directly to Timothy and Delora Klugh from your member page.  To do this, click the
Email Your Event Request List To Timothy & Delora check box so that there it is checked.  Then click the Update Button ( ).  If you do not click the Update Button ( ) after checking the Email Your Event Request List To Timothy & Delora check box, your Event Request List will not be sent.

Below the Update Form is the Account Information Form.  This form is shown below:

The Account Information form shows you the date that your membership began and all the information used for your log in.  At the top is your name.  In the middle is the email address that your password is sent to if forgotten.  You can change this email address at any time.  Be sure to click the Update Button ( ) to update your information!

Changing your password takes a little more effort.  First type in your new password in the
New Password text box.  However, this password change will not take affect unless you also click the Change Password check box so that it is checked.  Finally, be sure to click the Update Button ( ) to update your information!

Below the Account Information Form is the Event Request List Form.  This is the most commonly used form on the member page because it is the form where you list the songs that you want to do at the next Klugh Theatre event.  This form is shown below:

Because your karaoke songs are played in the order that they are listed, you will want to move the karaoke songs around in the Event Request List Form so that they are in the order that you want to perform them.  To move the songs up and down the Event Request List Form, use the Move Up Button ( ) and Move Down Button ( ) that is in the row of the song that you want to move.

To add or change a karaoke song in you list, type or paste the Song Code for that karaoke song into the
Song Code text box.  By clicking the Update Button ( ), the Song Title and Artist Name corresponding to that Song Code will appear in the Song Title field and Artist Name field, respectively.  If you enter a Song Code that is not found in the Klugh Theatre karaoke library, the text "***NOT FOUND***" will appear in the Song Title field and Artist Name fields after clicking the Update Button ( ).  If the row for the song turns red after clicking the Update Button ( ), it means that another member has this song on their Event Request List Form.

The Key dropdown list box for each karaoke song is used if you know the song is either too high or low for your vocal range.  The default is "Nat" for having the song played at its original pitch.  By expanding this dropdown box, you can select how many times flat (
b) or sharp (#) that you want the song to be placed when you perform it.  The more flat (b) you select, the lower the pitch the song will be transposed to.  The more sharp (#) you select, the higher the pitch the song will be transposed to.

To clear a row in the Event Request List Form, delete the contents of the Song Code text box (on the row of the song you want to remove) and click the Update Button (
).  The blank row will be automatically moved to the bottom of the list.

Finally, be sure to click the Update Button (
) to update your information!

Below the Event Request List Form is the Favorite Choices List Form.  Although its appearance is very similar to the Event Request List Form, the Favorite Choices List Form is not used to submit you requested songs for the next Klugh Theatre event.  Rather the Favorite Choices List Form is a larger list that allows you to store all many of your favorite karaoke songs that you may choose from for different events.  This way, although you may have removed a song from the Event Request List Form, you can keep a copy of it in the Favorite Choices List Form so that you do not have to look it up again in the Klugh Theatre karaoke library.  The Favorite Choices List Form is shown below:

Most of the functionality of the Favorite Choices List Form is the same as the Event Request List Form.  The only exceptions are as follows:

* The Favorite Choices List Form holds an additional ten songs,
* No rows are turned red if selected by another member, and
* The Favorite Choices List Form is not submitted for a Klugh Theatre event.

Finally, be sure to click the Update Button ( ) to update your information!

Below The Favorite Choices List Form is the View By Form.  This feature was added to the member page for those members who want to make their own spreadsheets or databases from the Klugh Theatre karaoke library.  The View By Form is shown below:

By click on the
View By Artist Name link, a new browser window will open.  This browser window will contain a list of all the karaoke songs in the library in alphabetical order by Artist Name.  Each song will appear with three fields: Song Code, Artist Name and Song Title.   The list is formatted as comma-delimited and quotation marks are used a qualifiers.  The hierarchy of the sort is Artist Name, Song Title and Song Code.  The data is only as up-to-date as the Data Timestamp displayed on this page.

KLUGH THEATRE
KARAOKE EVENT

It is our hope that everyone enjoys themselves at our Klugh Theatre events.  In order for participants to understand how the Klugh Theatre karaoke events work, this help section has been made available.

Preparing for Klugh Theatre karaoke event
If you are going to be performing on the stage at the Klugh Theatre at a karaoke event, it is highly recommended that you prepare your Event Request List ahead of time.  An Event Request List is a list of up to ten songs that you want to perform at the Klugh Theatre karaoke event.

The Event Request list can be made in three different ways:

* You can use a Klugh Theatre Request Card (available at the Klugh Theatre)
* You can use the Event Request List Form on your member page on Klugh Theater web site
* You can just make your own request card on paper or email

In either of the three options, the format is the same.  The Event Request List is a list of ten karaoke songs that you want to perform.  The karaoke songs are listed in the order that you want to perform them.  Each song must have contain the Song Code, Key, Song Title and Artist Name for the song, if it is a song in the Klugh Theatre karaoke library.  Below is an example of the way a Event Request List should look.
